Balloon ride

The Städtische Galerie Stuttgart bought the painting in 1949 from Helene Julie Reusch from Stuttgart. According to the information on her registration form for the American military government, she was a housewife from 1932 to 1945, had no income of her own and was divorced. It has not yet been possible to reconstruct where she got the painting. There is a provenance gap from 1929 to 1949, and Julie Reusch is unknown as owner and collector of artworks. Thomas F. Nägele, the last living son of R. Nägele, almost 100 years old and living in New York, does not know this name and cannot attribute it to any of his father's known collectors. Very little is known about Julie Reusch and her family background.
